Here, in the Malaysian state of Sarawak, the road from Kuching leads into the green hills of Padawan. About 90 minutes inland is Kampung Sadir — Saloma’s home and your introduction to Bidayuh village life.

A home, a family,
a living heritage.

In Kampung Sadir, the forest is part of everyday life. Knowledge is shared along a walking trail, around a cooking fire and over a meal. Staying with Saloma’s family brings you close to that connection.

Rooted in Sarawak.

The Bidayuh are Indigenous communities of western Sarawak, with distinct languages and local histories. Many are Christian today; faith, family traditions and customs vary between households and generations.

Borneo’s forests shelter extraordinary wildlife, including native orangutans. Near Kuching, Semenggoh cares for semi-wild orangutans — a separate destination to explore alongside your village stay.
