Bidayuh village

Read the testimonial from our guest Nicolas Caline :  Return on our adventures in Malaysia. The time of a weekend a village Bidayuh. Bidayuh is one of the main representatives of the Dayak community (The second tribe of Sarawak after the Ibans).

From Kuching, we took the road to the Padawan Mountains. After a stop at the Semenggoh reserve (we had the privilege of seeing a female Orang-Outang and her baby).

We spent a wonderful afternoon walking around their villages discovering their traditions, the local schools, the local waterfall and their rice liquor!

We shared the meal with the family and exchanging on their customs as well as ours. We are in ecstasy lost in the middle of the mountains! In the evening we made a small nocturnal hike to observe stick insects, locusts and some fireflies! We ended the evening with a few glasses of home-made rice alcohol while talking about local life! In the evening we sleep in their house type longhouse with the privilege of being the only tourists.

This next day it’s long walk with the house owner’s uncle in the surrounding jungle. Discovery of the local fauna and flora, splash and jump in the two waterfalls during a 3-4 hour hike! Then we went back to Kuching.”
